Here are some smooth shaving tips from Old Spice®
 |
- Get Warm & Wet – Wash your face before shaving, or shave after showering, with warm water. This softens whiskers and makes them easier to cut.
- Lather Up – Apply shaving cream or gel to your face in a circular motion and allow it to stay on your skin for a few minutes. This helps further soften your beard and allows your razor to glide across your face. Try Old Spice Original Shave Cream with its rich lather and the classic scent of Old Spice.
- Go with the grain – Shaving in the same direction that the hair grows (“with the grain”) will make shaving more comfortable. For a closer shave try going “against the grain”, but do so carefully as this increases the risk of irritation. Also, keep in mind that hair grows in different directions on the cheeks than on the neck and chin.
- Sharp Blade, Short Strokes – Use newer, sharper blades, which require less pressure than dull blades to cut hair. This, along with short, controlled strokes reduces the risk of nicks, cuts and irritation. Be sure to rinse your blades often during shaving to prevent clogging. For an extra smooth, comfortable shave, try the Old Spice 4-Blade Disposable Razor or Old Spice Navigator™ Power Disposable.
- Cool Rinse Cycle – After shaving, rinse your face thoroughly with cold water to remove any remaining lather or soap. Cold water is important because it closes your skin’s pores and reduces razor burn.
- Refresh and Re-hydrate – Shaving can make skin dry and irritated. Apply an after-shave to help soothe and hydrate your skin after shaving. Try Old Spice After Shave Balm, Lotion or Moisturizer, which are all specially formulated to provide moisturizing skin care benefits.
